Botanicals

Agnus Castus – whole berries from the agnus castus or chaste tree, also in powder form.  These botanicals help relieve the symptoms of menopause and PMS by balancing female hormones.

Boswellian Pieces – made from the gummy resin of the Indian Olibanum tree.  Boswellian pieces are non-steroids that are considered effective in treating rheumatism, without having any toxic or undesirable side effects.

Devils Claw Powder – extracted from the large roots of the Devils Claw plant, also known as the Grapple plant.  Powder from these botanicals is taken to relieve osteoarthritis, specifically in the knees or hips, and for lower back pain.

Guarana Seeds – a shrub cultivated by Indian tribes in Brazil.  The seeds are crushed and made into a powder that is thought to aid in losing weight, provide energy, and reduce fat cells.  The seeds also have a substantial amount of caffeine that is said to promote energy and mental stimulation, when prepared in a tea or drink.

Horehound Cut – a plant found in wet places, such as the ponds and lakes of Nova Scotia.  Botanicals used as tea for relieving coughing, flu symptoms, colds, and bronchitis. 

Iris Peeled Root Powder/Orris Root Powder – the roots of the Iris plant are carefully peeled to produce Orris root powder that is beneficial for relieving congestion and coughing, and as a diuretic.

Juniper Berries – soft cones of the juniper tree or shrub that can be crushed for use as a spice in European and Scandinavian wild bird and game dishes, sauerkraut, pork, and cabbage.  The berries are also used as diuretics and as remedies for arthritis. 

Kola Nuts – native botanicals to Africa.  Act as caffeine stimulants and thought to reduce appetite and fatigue.

Lemon Verbena – a shrub native to Argentina and Chile.  The leaves and flower tops are used in brewing tea to reduce colic, fever, and stress, and to strengthen the nervous system.

Marshmallow Powder – prepared from the roots of the plant, which grows in marshes or swamps.  Anti-inflammatory and valuable for all lung ailments, and used externally for treating burns and gangrene.

Quassia Chips – wood chips from the 100’ Quassia tree, native to the West Indies.  Can be brewed as a tea to relieve indigestion and cirrhosis of the liver.
